Parking
A parking space for disabled parking permit holders is situated in Via Magolfa. Cars can also be parked on the blue lines in the nearby streets.

Information for visitors
Thanks to the collaboration of volunteers, blind or visually impaired people can reserve a visit to discover a selection of objects of the collection and personal belongings of the poet.
Entrance
The main entrance, which is used for temporary exhibitions, has 1 step (2 cm high) and a hinged door (86 cm wide). Access to Spazio Ada Merini is normally from the entrance to the Literary Cafe situated about 5 metres to the right from the main entrance. The entrance to the Literary Cafe is a two-leaf gate (94 cm and 61 cm), leading to the canopied outside area, followed by a 1 cm step and a double leaf door (88 cm wide each). The bar is linked to the exhibition area by a stairway or, alternatively, by a stair lift.
Reception
The hall contains:
- the ticket office (counter height 89 cm)
- the information desk (counter height 89 cm).
The museum staff is at your disposal for information and tourist reception services.
Exhibition layout
Casa delle Arti-Spazio Alda Merini is located in a former tobacconist's shop in Via Magolfa. The exhibition area, on the first floor, can be reached by 23 steps (17 cm high each) avoidable using a stair lift (to get the key, please refer to the ticket office).
There you can find a reconstruction of Alda Merini's bedroom, with furniture and personal belongings from her home at Ripa Ticinese 47.
The area in front of the bedroom has panels (h 100 cm), with poems, portraits, biographical notes.The room is used for temporary exhibitions and meetings.
Orientation signage
In the building there are directional arrows with high contrast and large lettering (at least 7 cm).
Restrooms
There are two accessible bathrooms for people with disabilities.
The disabled bathroom is on the ground floor. It has the following characteristics:
- dressing room with hinged door (90 cm wide)
- bathroom with hinged door (90 cm wide)
- suspended washbasin (space in front 132 cm)
- floor-standing toilet (clear space: in front 120 cm, on the right side 260 cm, to the left side 23 cm, horizontal grab bar to the right)
- high contrast symbols indicating toilet facilities, positioned at eye level, using medium to large size letters.
The disabled bathroom on the first floor has the following characteristics:
- dressing room with hinged door (90 cm wide)
- bathroom with hinged door (90 cm wide)
- suspended washbasin (space in front 129 cm)
- floor-standing toilet (clear space: in front 106 cm, on the right side 210 cm, to the left side 23 cm, horizontal grab bar to the right)
- high contrast symbols indicating toilet facilities, positioned at eye level, using medium to large size letters.
Cafeteria
The literary café, on the ground floor, has a canopied outside area (30 seats) and is furnished with square tables with a single central leg (clear space below: 74 cm). The internal part of the cafeteria (counter heights 105 and 113 cm) consists of a small hall with 3 round tables with central leg (clear space below: 74 cm).
Emergency exits
Emergency routes are well indicated. There is an acoustic alarm system.
